So far, I’ve read and reviewed one book. I’ve started two others but ultimately they haven’t grabbed me – and yet, I still want to give them more of a chance (although I have read about 40 pages of one of those and probably about 100 pages of the other)!
My main niggle at the moment is that I have a policy of not reviewing books that I don’t finish. Well, here’s hoping for lots of finished books then.
Titles that iintrigue me: 2, 8, 14, 16, 17 and 21 – although, actually, also 18 – The Dung Ball Chronicle – come on right??

Finally – my books choices are completely random. I won’t be adding books as ‘currently reading’ on Goodreads or posting to Goodreads as I want to keep an open mind on all the books until the end.

Books and travelling with Lynn 
I really have respect for the bloggers who are doing this. I stopped reading indie books because so many of them were disappointing, and I was filling all my reading time with books I didn’t want to read. I can’t imagine having a pile of 27 indie books to read. Good luck and hopefully this project will lead to some great authors being discovered:-D
Well, time will tell I suppose. It is a big undertaking but I think I have to be firm with myself and if a book isn’t for me then just put it down. Otherwise I find it really slows me down or puts me off reading altogether. Who knows, perhaps the next Rothfuss, Lynch, Lawrence could be right here!

When I visit the U.K. around the end of the year, I’m hoping it’ll be on the itinerary!
I’ve put down plenty of traditionally published books after anywhere from 10 to 100 pages, some of them highly regarded. Having read slush piles for an online magazine I know that I can reject a good 25% of entries within a page just on the basis that the writing quality isn’t there. To find out if the story quality is there takes longer.
With your agent hat on you’re quite at liberty to reject books that fail to grab you as early on as you deem fit.
It’s strange because if these were my own bought books I would have no hesitation in putting them down if I wasn’t enjoying them. Odd the way the brain works I suppose.

The Dung Ball Chronicle? As in the chronicles of a dung ball? hmmmm, it sounds like a book my boys might like to read TBH 😉 But it also quite memorable! I still think its so impressive you and the others are doing this, hope you find some winners in the bunch!

I also tend to not review books I don’t finish. I may throw up a little blurb talking about why I didn’t finish it, but I don’t count that as a full review.
That being said, I love reading DNF reviews that others write, because even though I don’t do it myself as a personal preference, I find that the reasons one didn’t finish a book can be just as compelling and are just as valid as the reasons one DID finish it.
I agree completely. It is interesting reading why somebody didn’t finish reading a book. I still hate not finishing and these days I don’t have a lot of DNFs because I’m more careful about what I read. This SPFBO will be interesting in that respect.
