It’s got some very funny moments in it and the ‘in crowd’ are pretty horrible!
I know what you mean about Lady Shan – she is SO awful that she leaves you speechless. She’s one of those person who you would be desperately scrabbling around for a good response but it wouldn’t arrive until 20 minutes later!

She sits back and almost dissects the changes in herself. She can see herself becoming part of the crew and her inhibitions are starting to lessen. But, with Sazed she seems to never have experienced any doubts about him. I love their friendship and particularly that Sazed promised Kelsier he would like after Vin – it makes me feel good for her!

As a book lover and someone who loves to do research this is a great plot twist! It’s hard to trust Elend and his crew. Like you said, they have a lot to lose. It is so much easier to read books you aren’t supposed to than actually going out risking your life. Marsh hints that even the nobles are under the thumb of the Lord Ruler and yet, to my knowledge, none of the nobles have tried to rebel. They have it too easy even if they aren’t totally free.

So kind and patient, knowledgeable, yet also able to kick some ass when necessary.

I think you’re quite on the money with saying even Vin doesn’t really recognise just how much she trusts him. But when someone spends patient months teaching you and then saves you from what must’ve seemed fairly certain death, how can one not? :)
